The Indian Coffee House, popularly known as the Coffee House of Calcutta, is situated at the heart of College Street. It is considered one of the most important cultural landmarks of Kolkata. The establishment of this building dates back to 1876, with the establishment of Albert Hall.

Since its inception, the atmosphere of the Coffee House is quite noisy. Still now, it is the gateway to freedom for the collegians. Previously, it was the meeting point of the eminent personalities belonging to the field of Bengali literature, arts, cinema, and politics, who spent hours debating and discussing matters that helped society.
